Step-by-Step to a SUCCESSFUL Creation


1.   Sand any edges needed.

2.   If using paper, trace it out first.


3.   Paint or Stain desired wood. ~if using stain, be sure to use gloves~


4.   While paint is drying, cut out paper (slightly smaller or perfectly even with the wood).


5.   Once paint is dry, use Mod Podge to glue paper to wood (use a scraper to be sure to get all bubbles from underneath paper.


6.   Allow paper to dry


7.   "Chalk” desired edges to give it a finished look.


8.   Apply another coat of Mod Podge on top of paper and wood.


9.   If any, apply vinyl letters to craft.


10. If using glitter: place tin foil under display, Mod Podge desired area you want glitter, apply glitter generously, let stand 5 minutes, lightly shake off excess glitter onto tin foil, dump excess glitter back into glitter jar. Apply each color separately.


11.  Spray entire craft with Krylon spray (glossy or matte). ***Warning- Do not spray vinyl letters! You can Mod Podge over vinyl letters to seal it, but do not use the spray. They will curl and be ruined.***


12.  Once completely dry, add ribbon, wire, jewels, or any other accessories!

  1. Does it matter what kind of Krylon spray to use? I bought the Krylon adhesive spray.

  2. Yes you want to use a Sealer not and adhesive - the adhesive is to make things stick like glue this will not provide a sealant to protect your project.
